Located in Seaton, Thornfield Care Home is a brand new purpose-built home designed to enhance the lives of our residents. Our Rooms

All 52 of our bedrooms at Thornfield are designed to provide a comfortable and secure private environment for each resident. Each room is fully equipped with amenities, including WC’s, contemporary furnishings, profiling beds, and state-of-the-art nurse call systems.

We understand the importance of personal space, and residents are encouraged to personalise their rooms with cherished items such as picture frames, wall art, or small pieces of furniture, transforming it into a true home-away-from-home.

At Thornfield, we believe that every detail contributes to a resident’s well-being, ensuring that their living space is not only safe and comfortable but also a reflection of their unique identity.

Dining

The skilled team of chefs and kitchen staff at Thornfield is dedicated to creating wholesome, home-cooked meals. We prioritise the use of local produce whenever possible, carefully considering individual preferences and dietary requirements. Residents can anticipate the joy of enjoying their favourite dishes regularly.

Our menu changes weekly, offering a variety of nutritious and flavourful dishes, including a traditional Sunday roast as a regular highlight. Residents are given a choice at every mealtime, ensuring that their preferences and dietary needs are always met. Special meals can also be prepared for specific dietary and nutritional requirements, making dining both enjoyable and accommodating for everyone.

Arts & Crafts

Our Arts and Crafts sessions at Thornfield Care Home provide residents with a creative and enjoyable way to express themselves. From painting and colouring to other hands-on activities, these sessions encourage relaxation, creativity, and social engagement.

When the weather permits, we also take our arts and crafts sessions outdoors, offering a refreshing change of scenery and inspiration from nature.

Using a range of general materials, our sessions are adaptable to different skill levels and interests. We also tailor activities to special occasions throughout the year, creating themed decorations and crafts to celebrate holidays and seasonal events.

Royal Oak Inn

The Royal Oak Inn is Thornfield Care Home’s very own pub, designed to capture the warmth and charm of a traditional English inn. This inviting space provides residents with a cosy and familiar setting where they can relax, socialise, and enjoy a drink in a friendly, pub-like atmosphere.

Complete with classic décor, comfortable seating, and an authentic bar area, the Royal Oak Inn offers a nostalgic experience that evokes fond memories of times spent in local pubs. Designed to enhance social interaction and create joyful experiences, the Royal Oak Inn is a cherished part of life at Thornfield Care Home.

At Thornfield, our beautiful garden terrace provides the perfect outdoor retreat for residents to relax and socialise. Thoughtfully designed to create a peaceful and inviting space, our outdoor areas feature an astroturf lawn, seating areas, and a fountain.

Whether enjoying a quiet moment in the fresh air, chatting with friends, or simply enjoying the sun, our courtyard is a cherished part of daily life where residents can experience the joys of outdoor living in a safe and comfortable environment.

Hair Salon

The Thornfield Hair Salon offers a professional and relaxing space where residents can enjoy a little pampering and self-care. Our experienced stylists provide a range of services, including set, cut and blow dry, and trims for gents. For those looking for a fresh new look, we also offer perms and hair colouring, available for an additional charge.

To ensure all residents can maintain their preferred hairstyle, one hairdressing appointment per month is included in the care home fees. Our salon is designed to provide a comfortable and enjoyable experience, helping residents feel their best while fostering a sense of confidence and well-being.

Varied Activities Programme

We believe in keeping our residents engaged, entertained, and socially active through a diverse activities programme. Designed to cater to a variety of interests and abilities, our schedule includes music sessions, arts and crafts, visiting entertainment, and social events, ensuring there is always something to look forward to. Live entertainment plays an important role in our home, with singers regularly visiting to bring joy and nostalgia through music.

We also arrange regular trips and excursions, allowing residents to enjoy scenic drives to the coast, visits to local cafés and restaurants, garden centres, and shopping trips. These outings provide wonderful opportunities for fresh air, social interaction, and a change of scenery.
